Our Work

Rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming

Not every dog will end its working life safely. We see horror stories all the time of dogs sold, dumped or put to sleep because nobody wanted them after a lifetime of service. Dogs with high drive and working training can’t make the transition easily back into a pet life, Bravo can help to make this transition possible. Whilst not all working dogs can be rehomed, many dogs rescued by Bravo do have the potential to make either a pet in a experienced home or return to a life in service.

Some work trained dogs are suited to a new life working alongside a handler undertaking valuable work. Bravo can support the security sector by offering a Bravo dog for a new working life where appropriate. Learn more about rehoming.

Campaigning

We campaign to ensure the ongoing welfare of failed and retiring working dogs, including highlighting the unnecessary euthanasia of dogs. Bravo campaigns to the world of working dogs to support or work, read our latest press release.

Support

As a specialist working dog rescue, Bravo can support organisations, agencies and companies who use service dogs in their line of work. Bravo often supports handlers, often without their companies knowledge, seeking advice or urgent rescue of a dog at risk. Contact us if we can help.

Advice

If you are thinking of offering your dog to a working home, we’d be happy to offer advice. If you are a rescue thinking of donating a dog to Police or security, please check them out thoroughly. For the right dog, with the right people, the life of a working dog is safe, fulfilled and fun. In the wrong hands, dogs are wound up, sold indiscriminately and even put down if unsuccessful. There are individuals, companies and forces we would not recommend and many we would. Bravo can give you the right advice. We are here to help.

Education

Through our website, social media presence and media contributions we inform the general public to the plight that many failed and retiring working dogs face. We believe that the public should be aware that for some dogs the end of their working life can result in death, abandonment and neglect.

Be part of the new way forward in the ongoing welfare of working dogs. Help the dogs that protect you, give them the support they deserve.

Please contact us if would like to learn more about our vital rescue work.
