Bravo stands up for working dogs
In the last decade over 800 military dogs have been put to sleep when their working life ended. Consider what happens to the dogs that keep you safe when their service life is over.
We’d all like to think that dogs working to protect us, our families and workplaces retire happily with their handler. Whilst this does often happen, it sometimes doesn't. With no specialised rescue in the UK for working dogs, Bravo Working Dog Rescue was founded by Animal Behaviourist Debbie Connolly to offer rescue to working dogs who face an uncertain future when their service life has ended.
Working dogs from the Police, MoD and security industries who do not retire with their handler are sold to dealers for profit, dumped in inexperienced rescues, badly rehomed without checks or put to sleep because nobody wanted them after a lifetime of service.
Without a specialist working dog rescue like Bravo, many working dogs would not get the help they deserve and be given a chance to become happy, loved pets or return to a working life.
